Adam is an emerging artist living in Toronto. He creates works based in performance and digital media. His work explores “selling wine without bottles”.
Adam is an active participant in the Toronto artist community. He is a member of the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art curatorial collective and of the board of directors of FADO Performance Inc. Most recently, Adam has presented Mosquito Tent, an interactive electronics and audio installation at Labspace Studios, performed The Revolution Will Be Live for the 7a*11d Lip Sync Smack-down, and has screened Swansong, a performance for video, at the Butcher Gallery and at Under New Management.
Adam holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Arts Management with a Major in Studio and an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Cognitive Psychology with a Major in Philosophy. In addition to his artistic practice, Adam works as an Organizational Development consultant with non-profit arts and cultural organizations.
I am intrigued by this project because of the opportunity for collaboration, an ongoing interest in my practice. Unique to this project is an opportunity to collaborate indirectly rather than directly. My proposal is to collaborate with the works produced by my collaborators, rather than with my collaborators to produce that work. I am available for this project on any Friday in February.
For the real-time, interactive, web-based component documenting each research day I propose to do a series of digital drawings based on the weather at various times during the day. These drawings will be submitted as evidence/documentation of my experience during the day. For the final exhibition I propose creating a performance that uses the digital drawings as a startingpoint to respond to pieces of evidence/documentation of my collaborators experience.
